The Glittering Plain is in three movements and was commissioned by Lara James for her second  Signum Classics CD which was also titled The Glittering Plain.
 
The jazz instruments (piano, bass and drums) have written out parts but would benefit from being played by musicians with jazz improvising skills. (some passages have additional chord symbols)  and drums (the basic part needs to be built upon in the usual jazz manner). It should be noted, however, that no improvised solos, although permissable, are required.
