Introduction to Iain James Veitch

For most of my life I have been known as Ian Lawson - one of half of the music-production partnership Heneghan & Lawson - composers of music for film and television. 

Throughout the years, however, I have also composed much ‘classical’ concert music - a body of work which is now beginning to emerge from the shadows. Because I'm now focusing on this part of my work I’ve decided to ‘re-invent’ myself under a different name.

The choice of Iain James Veitch, however, is not arbitrary. In fact, it has a great deal of meaning for me in that Veitch should actually be my family name. The discovery of this provides the background to my first album of solo piano music entitled Kin - the first body of music to come out by Iain James Veitch.

I have since decided to re-brand most of my existing catalogue and publish new editions - all of which will be available from fieldgatemusic.com
